Arena Guide: Endless Mode Mechanics and Deep-Run Strategy

The Arena (Egg Arena) is the endless mode unlocked after clearing the Final Floor: a gauntlet of 30 straight battles against egg-themed enemies, capped by Eggscalibur and his 22.18 million HP. It is the main source of chips, a high-score playground, and the ceiling of the “one-turn kill” power fantasy.

Unlock and Entry

  • Unlock: clear Stage 10 “The Final Floor” (defeat Lord Slotor);
  • Entry: select Arena mode from the main menu; it starts directly at the equipment selection;
  • Rule differences: your starting coin cap becomes 50 (100 in the campaign); skipping enemies still pays out as usual.

The Fixed 30-Battle Order

Arena enemies appear in a fixed order, as follows:

Eggo → Shell Guard → Leggo → Horn-Egg → Golden Egg → Lich Egg → Brollegg
→ Spike Egg → Eggomancer → Golden Egg → Egglancer → Eggzerker → Egg Queen
→ Rotter → Duelist → Tunnel Egg → Yolker → Egg of Kul → Half-Yolk
→ Golden Egg → Snake-Egg → Frygg → Yolk Trooper → Nail-Head Gang → Deviled Egg
→ Eggogryph → Egguana → Yolk Elemental → Shellwarden → Yolkbot
→ (final boss) Eggscalibur

Golden Egg appears 3 times — it’s a “money gift” enemy (drops 5 coins per turn), but from turn 4 its magical attack escalates (20 → 100 → 200 → 500 → 1000); stall too long and you die.

Growth Curve: Stronger Every Battle

HP (endless curve, per tier):

HP = (500 + 150 × n) × 1.11ⁿ  (n = 0–29 for the 30 regular battles)

Attack:

Attack = (80 + 15 × n) × 1.05ⁿ
BattleHPAttack
Battle 150080
Battle 51,670170
Battle 105,679375
Battle 1517,053793
Battle 2046,4061,590
Battle 25116,3523,041
Battle 30276,0615,544

The first 10 battles are gentle; numbers start taking off from battle 15; after battle 25, only the Bomb build progresses normally.

Difficulty curve (key trivia):

Endless difficulty multiplier = (1 + 0.1 × n) × 1.05ⁿ
But it only applies to enemies' 【magical attacks】 and 【special actions】!
The physical attack multiplier is fixed at 1.0.

So in the Arena:

  • Physical enemies (Shellwarden, Egg Digger, etc.) get “gentler” the deeper you go — physical damage doesn’t benefit from the difficulty scaling;
  • Magical enemies (Yolker, Deviled Egg, etc.) are what actually one-shot you late game — by battle 25 the difficulty multiplier is about 11×, and magical enemies deal 3,000+ per turn;
  • Counter: the magic resistance modifier (+10% per level) is far more valuable in the Arena than in the campaign.

Reward Model

ItemValue
Chip rate0.005 chips/point (0.1 in the campaign — a point in the Arena is worth 1/20 of one in the campaign)
Chips cap per run1,000
Bonus coinsThe first 6 battles grant [10, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5] bonus coins
Score sources“Unlock new item 80 points each” only (kill and clear scores don’t count in endless mode)

Do the math: reaching battle 20 in a single Arena run (about 15–20 minutes) ≈ 4–6 item unlocks = 320–480 points ≈ 1.6–2.4 chips… even before the 1,000-per-run cap, the Arena’s chip efficiency is actually lower than farming the campaign. Its value lies in the challenge itself, not in chip farming.

Newbie perk note: after the first 3 runs use up the “+50 chips” beginner bonus, the optimal way to farm chips is repeatedly clearing the campaign’s first 5 stages (60 points per stage + 75 per kill ×5 = 435 points ≈ 43.5 chips/run, about 10 minutes per run).

Deep-Run Strategy

  1. Build choice: only the Bomb build gets past battle 25 (see the Bomb & Saw build guide); the Massive Blade perfect build reaches roughly battles 15–18;
  2. Survival first: the Arena doesn’t reward greed like the campaign — from battle 10 onward carry heal/shield items (Gouda Cheese is an Arena MVP: +20 HP & +25 cap per turn, 20-level cap);
  3. Against magical enemies: max out the magic resistance modifier before entering (4 levels at 25+35+50+70=180 chips total), or Yolker will take you out in a single turn;
  4. Don’t burst Golden Egg down: for its first 3 turns it only drops coins — free money rounds; but kill it before turn 4 (its magical attack starts at 20 and grows exponentially);
  5. Reroll management: enemies with an aggro meter go berserk after roughly 10 of your rerolls (Horn-Egg and similar) — keep an eye on the rage bar while rolling Bombs;
  6. Eggscalibur: covered separately in the Eggscalibur guide; don’t pick this fight unless you have a maxed-out Bomb build.

Community High-Score Reference

  • The Steam guide The most stupid and powerful build documents the full 36-level route;
  • Typical “how far you’ll get” tiers: beginners battles 5–8 / developed Bomb build battles 20–25 / maxed Bomb build clears all 36 battles (including Eggscalibur).
